Drainage problems we fix
Water always goes somewhere. The job is making sure it goes where you want it.
Find the cause first
We look at grade, downspouts, and soil to see where water collects and why before recommending a fix.
Standing water and soggy lawn
Low spots and areas that stay wet for days after rain — the places that kill grass and breed mosquitoes.
Water headed toward the house
Runoff that runs toward the foundation instead of away from it.
Downspout runoff
Downspouts that dump next to the house or wash out a bed can be redirected away from it.
Lawn and beds put back
When the drainage work is done, we restore the lawn and beds around it — seed, sod, or mulch.
One crew, start to finish
The same Metro West crew handles the build, the beds around it, and the lawn afterward. We don’t subcontract.
Why St. Louis yards hold water
Most of the metro sits on heavy clay. Clay drains slowly to begin with, and after years of foot traffic and mowing it compacts even more. Add a yard that was graded toward the house, or downspouts that empty onto the lawn, and water has nowhere to go.
Not every wet yard needs the same fix. Sometimes it’s surface compaction, where core aeration helps. Sometimes it’s grade or runoff, which aeration won’t solve. We’ll tell you which one you’re dealing with.
Pairs well with our other services
Drainage work often goes with a retaining wall on a sloped yard or a walkway that keeps washing out. Afterward, new sod gets the lawn back fast.

Yard drainage FAQs
Do I need an on-site visit for a drainage quote? +
Yes. Drainage problems are different on every property, so we walk the yard, find the cause, and give you an exact price before we start. Book online or call (314) 961-1987.
Why does my yard stay soggy after it rains? +
Most of the St. Louis metro sits on heavy clay that drains slowly and compacts over time. A yard graded toward the house or downspouts that empty onto the lawn make it worse.
Will aeration fix my drainage problem? +
Sometimes. Core aeration helps when the problem is surface compaction. If the problem is grade or runoff, aeration won't solve it. We'll tell you which one you're dealing with.
Can you stop water from running toward my house? +
Yes. We find where the runoff is coming from and fix the yard so water moves away from the foundation instead of toward it.
Do you repair the lawn after drainage work? +
Yes. When the drainage work is done, we restore the lawn and beds around it with seed, sod, or mulch.
